Amen, Learned Slowly

Learning to pray with Jesus — one line at a time

The prayer Jesus gave his disciples shaped the early church

for generations. Learn to slow down with the Lord’s Prayer,

listening close and savoring each phrase — one line at a time.

“Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom,
and the power,
and the glory,
for ever. Amen.”

                           — Matthew 6:9–13 (KJV)

The Lord's Prayer

Reflections that walk slowly through the prayer Jesus taught,

noticing how these words form trust, dependence,

and surrender as we learn to pray with him.
